International Sloth Day is the 20th of October each year.
The day was created in 2010 by the AIUNAU Foundation, a non-profit conservation and wildlife organization based in Colombia. The holiday is an unofficial one, however it attempts to raise awareness about the life cycle and natural habitat of the sloth. The day also provides an opportunity for people all around the world to learn more about these slow-moving, tree-dwelling, leaf-eating animals that are native to South and Central America.
